WooCommerce talks to Wapzio through the Wapzio Connect plugin. The download from your store card already contains that store's connection details, so there is nothing to copy, paste or configure inside WordPress.

You will need

WordPress admin access with permission to upload a plugin, and about five minutes.

Step 1 — Add the store in Wapzio

  1. 1

    Open the form

Commerce → Stores → Add store → WooCommerce.

  2. 2

Enter the store name and URL

Store URL is your shop's address, for example https://myshop.com.

Consumer key and consumer secret are optional. They are only used by the Test connection button — the plugin sends carts and orders without them. To create them: WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API, with Read access. Enter both or neither.

  3. 3

    Pick the checkout

Leave Checkout used by this store on WooCommerce's own checkout unless a third-party checkout takes over the cart.

  4. 4

    Click Connect store

The store now appears with a Plugin not installed yet note — that is the next step.

Step 2 — Install Wapzio Connect

  1. 1

    Download the plugin

On the store card, open Connection details and click Download plugin. The zip is generated for this store and carries its ingest URL and signing secret inside.

  2. 2

    Upload it to WordPress

WordPress admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → choose the zip → Install Now → Activate.

  3. 3

    Save and test

Go to WooCommerce → Wapzio Connect and click Save & test connection. The plugin announces itself, and the Wapzio store card starts showing the installed version.

Make the checkout phone number required

WooCommerce lets a shopper check out without a phone number, and a cart with no number cannot be messaged. Set the billing phone field to Required (WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping/Checkout fields, or your theme's checkout field settings) before you rely on recovery.

Step 3 — Turn on signed requests

Wapzio Connect 1.1.0 and later signs every request it sends, so nobody who merely learns your ingest URL can post fake carts to it.

  1. 1

    Wait for the green line

In Connection details → Request signing, the status reads Signed requests verified once a signed cart or order has actually arrived.

  2. 2

Switch Only accept signed requests on

From then on, anything unsigned is refused. If you turn it on before a signed request has arrived, Wapzio warns you and names what will be rejected.

Tip

Still on an older plugin? The card offers Download update, and the version shown next to it tells you where you stand.

Step 4 — Prove it works

  • Add an item on your shop, start checkout with your own phone number, and abandon it. The cart appears under Commerce → Abandoned Carts.
  • Place a small real order. The cart flips to Recovered and the order feeds the order messages.
  • If nothing arrives, open the plugin's settings page again — Save & test connection reports the exact error WordPress got.
